As a DBA of more than 17 years who worked and deployed several types of monitoring solutions in the past, what I like about AimBetter is that it’s a fast, lightweight, accessible-from-anywhere solution that is quite intuitive compared to other monitoring solutions in the market.
I work with AimBetter almost on a weekly basis, and It doesn’t take me more than a few minutes to get the whole picture of what is slowing down the database or the application.
The visualization is clean and elegant while being informative and relevant.
My favorite feature Is the Query Analyzer which shows me the SQL statements which I should keep an eye on which consume the most CPU, I/O or runtime, all sortable on the time frame of my choice. I can just dive into these statements and try rewriting and restructuring them to “shave off” some of their resource consumption and their duration.
What’s even more cool about this solution is that if you are a customer without an on-site DBA/IT professional, you can get the DBA support from RylTech themselves, when their expert DBA will call you and offer you options for solving the issues your system is experiencing.
